How Do I Pair the CVCI (Compact VCI) with the Trigger Module?

By default, the CVCI (Compact VCI) and trigger module purchased as a package have matching last five digits in their product serial numbers. These two devices are sold pre-paired. Therefore, under normal conditions, they will connect automatically when powered on without requiring a separate pairing procedure.

If the devices are not pre-paired or you need to use devices with different serial numbers, reset the pairing as described below.

 Pairing the CVCI (Compact VCI) with the Trigger Module (1:1)

   1) Connect the CVCI to the OBD-II connector, and use a pin to press the pairing switch on the bottom of the CVCI module. The CVCI enters pairing-ready mode, and the green and red LEDs illuminate alternately at 1 Hz. The CVCI remains in pairing standby mode for 60 seconds.

   2) Connect the trigger module to the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, and press and hold the Enter key on the trigger module for at least 5 seconds. After a beep sounds, the Enter key illuminates orange (both the green and red LEDs are on), and the VCI2 LED flashes red rapidly. When the target CVCI is detected, the VCI1 CAN1 LED illuminates green. After the pairing process continues for approximately 20 seconds, a beep sounds and the Enter key illuminates green.

  3) If the CAN1 LED does not illuminate green, pairing has failed. Repeat steps 1) and 2).

  4) After pairing is complete, disconnect the CVCI and trigger module from the vehicle, and then reconnect them to verify that pairing was completed successfully. When the CVCI is connected to the OBD-II connector and the trigger module is connected to the cigarette lighter socket, the CVCI CAN1 and CAN2 LEDs illuminate light green.
