Why was the Background Download button removed?
Starting with Android 15, restrictions on background network access have been strengthened. As a result, network traffic, such as file downloads, is restricted while an app is running in the background.
Q. What happens if I navigate to the Home screen during a download?
A. The download stops. When Smart Launcher is reopened, the download resumes from the point at which it stopped.
