Unable to Register or Automatically Set Up CVCI II Using a USB Cable

Symptom: When registering CVCI II using a USB cable, it is recognized only as a removable disk and cannot be registered as a USB device.

Resolution: Check the SmartDLogger software and firmware versions.

<SmartDLogger Software>

Hyundai - SmartDLogger 3.2.4.0 or later is supported

Kia - SmartDLogger 3.6.4.0 or later is supported

<Firmware Version>

Hyundai/Kia firmware version - 01.05 or later is supported

If the firmware version is 01.04 or earlier, device registration and automatic setup cannot be performed using a USB cable. Check and update the firmware version as shown in the image below.

To update the firmware, you must first register the device using Bluetooth. If the device cannot be registered using Bluetooth, refer to the FAQ below.
