Unable to Register the Device or Perform Auto Setup When CVCI II Is Connected via USB Cable

Symptom: When attempting to register CVCI II using a USB cable, it is recognized only as a removable disk and cannot be registered as a USB device.

Solution: Check the SmartDLogger program and firmware versions.

<SmartDLogger Program>

Hyundai - SmartDLogger 3.2.4.0 or later is supported

Kia - SmartDLogger 3.6.4.0 or later is supported

<Firmware Version>

Hyundai/Kia firmware version - 01.05 or later is supported

If the firmware version is 01.04 or earlier, device registration and Auto Setup cannot be performed using a USB cable. Check and update the firmware version as shown in the image below.

To update the firmware, the device must first be registered via Bluetooth. If the device cannot be registered via Bluetooth, refer to the FAQ below.
