'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' Pop-Up Appears

Symptom: After installing Smart Dlogger, the 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' message appears and the program cannot be launched.

Causes and Solutions

1. This issue may occur if write permission for the C drive is restricted by PC security settings. Contact your IT department and request write permission for the following folder and program.

->  Grant write permission for 'C:\Program Files (x86)\GDS Inside2" and 'SmartDLogger.lnk'.

2. This issue occurs when the Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 2010 Redistributable Package is not installed correctly. Even if it is already installed, the installation may have become corrupted due to external factors. Reinstallation is therefore required.

-> Install the redistributable packages in the following order. For a 32-bit OS, install x86. For a 64-bit OS, install x86 first, followed by x64.

1) Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package
2) Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable Package

The redistributable packages are available at the following path.

 C:Program Files (x86) > GDS inside2 > SmartDLogger >Drivers > vcredist

3. If Windows is accessed using a standard user account without administrator privileges, only the desktop shortcut may fail to launch, regardless of the conditions described in steps 1 and 2.

-> Run SmartDLogger.exe directly from the Smart Dlogger installation path (C:\Program Files (x86)\GDS inside2\SmartDLogger), or right-click the file, select 'Create shortcut,' replace the existing desktop shortcut with the new one, and then launch the program.
