How do I pair the Compact VCI (CVCI) with the trigger module?

By default, a Compact VCI (CVCI) and trigger module purchased as one package have matching serial numbers in the last 5 digits. These two devices are pre-paired before shipment. Therefore, under normal conditions, they will connect automatically when powered on without requiring a separate pairing procedure.

If the devices are not pre-paired, or if you need to use devices with different serial numbers, you can reset the default pairing as described below.

 Pairing the CVCI (Compact VCI) with the trigger module (1:1)

   1) Connect the CVCI to the OBD-II connector. Using a pin, press the pairing switch on the bottom of the CVCI module. The CVCI will enter pairing-ready mode, and the green and red LEDs will illuminate alternately at 1 Hz. The CVCI will remain in pairing standby mode for 60 seconds.

   2) Connect the trigger module to the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, and then press and hold the Enter key on the trigger module for at least 5 seconds. After a beep sounds, the Enter key will illuminate orange (both the green and red LEDs are on), and the VCI2 LED will flash red rapidly. When the CVCI to be paired is detected, the VCI1 CAN1 LED will illuminate green. After approximately 20 seconds of pairing, a beep will sound and the Enter key will illuminate green.

  3) If the CAN1 LED does not illuminate green, pairing has failed. Repeat steps 1) and 2).

  4) After pairing is complete, disconnect the CVCI and trigger module from the vehicle, and then reconnect them to confirm that the default pairing was completed successfully. Connect the CVCI to the OBD-II connector and the trigger module to the cigarette lighter socket. The CVCI CAN1 and CAN2 LEDs should illuminate light green.
