How to Diagnose and Upgrade the ECU on Reimported Vehicles

1. After launching KDS 2.0, check the VCI connection status (Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth, or wired), and then select [Vehicle Selection].

2. Select the Region menu in the upper-left corner, and then select the destination country to which the vehicle was exported for diagnosis or upgrade. 

Example: 
   A) If a vehicle was manufactured in Korea and sold to a customer in the USA,
      select USA for diagnosis or upgrade.
   B) If a vehicle was manufactured in the USA and sold to a customer in the USA,
      select USA for diagnosis or upgrade.

3. Select the Vehicle Model, then select the year and Engine Type, and manually enter the VIN. (If AUTO VIN is available, you can use it to enter the Vehicle Model, year, and Engine Type.)

4. A vehicle diagnostic number (VDN) will be generated. After confirming that the vehicle information (Vehicle Model, year, and Engine Type) is correct, proceed to the ECU Upgrade menu. 

5. Select Manual Mode to perform the ECU upgrade. 

If you cannot find the ECU upgrade you want to perform, contact us through support-kia.gitauto.com or submit a request using the Inquiry button in the upper-right corner of the screen. 
When submitting an inquiry, be sure to provide the Vehicle Model, year, Engine Type, and VIN.
