Some ECU Upgrade events require OTA Initialization to be completed first. KDS 2.0 automatically performs this initialization; however, if the vehicle’s CCU status is unstable, automatic initialization and the ECU Upgrade may fail. In this case, the technician must manually perform OTA Initialization, verify that it has completed successfully, and then retry the ECU Upgrade.
Some ECU Upgrade events require **OTA Initialization** to be completed before proceeding.
When the applicable event is started in KDS 2.0, the application is designed to automatically perform OTA Initialization first and then proceed with the ECU Upgrade.
However, the following issue may occur
During automatic OTA Initialization, the vehicle’s CCU may be unstable, or its response may be delayed or not received. When this occurs:
- OTA Initialization automatically fails within the application.
- The application cannot proceed to the ECU Upgrade step, causing the upgrade to fail.
This results in an unsuccessful ECU Upgrade.
Resolution (Technician Procedure)
If automatic OTA Initialization fails, the technician must manually perform OTA Initialization.

Home > S/W Management > CCU > OTA Initialization
Run OTA Initialization directly from this menu → Verify that it completes successfully.
Next Step
After manual OTA Initialization has completed successfully:
➡ Return to the ECU Upgrade menu and perform the upgrade again. The upgrade should then proceed normally.
