This article explains how to configure an Ethernet connection by verifying the hardware connections, selecting Ethernet in the tablet PC settings, configuring a static IP address, and saving the entered IP address.
PLEASE NOTE
To perform an ECU Upgrade or diagnostic procedure requiring Ethernet, configure the scan tool as follows:
- When using VCI2, use an ECI (Ethernet Communication Module) and its cable to connect the VCI2, ECI, and tablet PC. Appendix: How to connect the ECI, VCI2, and tablet PC
- When using VCI3, use the designated cable (P/N: G1XDDCA020) to connect the VCI3 to the tablet PC.
1. Configure the Ethernet settings
✅ If the Ethernet button is disabled, verify the VCI and cable connections
In the operating system settings, select Settings > Connections > More connection settings > Ethernet.
2. Configure the Ethernet device
In the Ethernet device configuration, select Fixed IP Settings.
3. Enter and save the static IP address
Enter the static IP address using the values displayed on the screen, and then save the settings.
