Symptom: Error code [5021-31-7000] occurs during an ECU upgrade.
Cause: The ECU does not respond, or the specified response time is exceeded, when the erase memory or checkdependency command is executed during the ECU upgrade.
Corrective Action:
1. Check whether any aftermarket equipment is installed in the vehicle.
2. Verify the diagnostic tool connection and confirm that sensor output from the target ECU is displayed correctly.
3. If the connection and sensor output are normal, retry the ECU upgrade.
4. If the same error occurs after retrying, contact GIT to test using a file with adjusted timing.
5. If the ECU cannot be recovered after testing, contact Kia Techline.
