Symptom: Error code [5021-27-7F33] occurs during an ECU upgrade.
Cause: The control unit returned negative response 33 to the ECU upgrade security command.
Resolution:
1. Log out of the diagnostic tool, log back in, and retry. Ensure that Wi-Fi or LTE/5G is connected before logging in.
2. Confirm whether the ECU upgrade was performed in Automatic Mode or Manual Mode.
3. If Manual Mode was used, confirm that the ECU upgrade was attempted using the correct subcategory for the control unit.
4. Check whether any aftermarket equipment is installed in the vehicle.
5. Check whether any work has been performed on the gateway installed in the vehicle.
6. If the issue persists, contact the control unit manufacturer or the Kia R&D centre.
