Error Code [5021-31-7000] During KDS 2.0 ECU Upgrade and Corrective Actions

Symptom: Error code [5021-31-7000] occurs during an ECU upgrade.

Cause: The ECU does not respond or the specified response time is exceeded when the erase memory or checkdependency command is executed during the ECU upgrade.

Corrective Action:

1. Check whether any aftermarket equipment is installed in the vehicle.
2. Check the diagnostic tool connection and confirm that sensor output data from the target ECU is displayed normally.
3. If the connection and sensor output are normal, retry the ECU upgrade.
4. If the same failure occurs after retrying, contact GIT to perform testing using a file with modified timing settings.

5. If the ECU cannot be recovered after testing, contact Kia Techline.
