KDS 2.0 Smart Launcher Download and Installation Failures

We have recently received reports of download and installation failures. GIT is currently investigating the root cause and a solution. These issues are caused by unstable connections to the server.

Symptoms of an unstable server connection include:

• Download failures: The download may Stall or time out if communication with the server is interrupted.

  • Error message A: An error occurred while downloading the file. ERROR

• Error message B: An error occurred while downloading the file. ERROR_DOWNLOAD_TIMEOUT

• Symptom A: No download progress is displayed.
• Symptom B: The download remains at a certain percentage for Hours without progressing.
• Symptom C: The download returns to 0% after reaching a certain percentage.

• Installation failures: Installation may fail because of incomplete downloads or corrupted data caused by network interruptions.

  • Error message: Installation has failed! Please select OK button to perform Online Download again. GDS_Smart_123.apk
    • The "apk" file identified in the error message may vary.

Current Workaround:
At this time, the only available workaround is to continue retrying the in-app resource download until it is completed successfully.

Important Note: Do not select "Close" during the retry process. Selecting this option automatically deletes all previously downloaded files, requiring the download to restart from 0%.

• Use the "Retry" button instead. This option checks the previously downloaded files and, if no issues are found, resumes the download from the point at which it failed.

Example: If the download fails at 50% and you select "Retry," the download will resume from 50%.

• If you select "Close" at 50% and then retry, the download will restart from 0%.

GIT is actively working to resolve these issues and will provide an Update as soon as possible.
