Kia KDS 2.0 | Resolving “Not Enough Storage” Internet Update Errors on 64 GB Tablets

• KDS 2.0 users
• This issue particularly affects tablet models with 64 GB of storage.

Symptoms

You may experience one of the following issues when attempting to download software version NEH-02-0099, NVH-00-0099, NWH-00-0099, or later:

• Internet Update does not start.
• The following error message appears: “There is not enough storage space for the update.”

Why this happens

Resolution

If you encounter this issue, follow the steps below to free sufficient storage and complete the update.

Step 1: Manually clear the tablet storage

1. On the tablet, go to Settings > Device care > Storage.
2. Check the available storage. At least 20 GB of free storage is required.
3. Delete obsolete data, unused apps, or temporary files until at least 20 GB is available.

Alternative: Perform a factory reset

If you cannot obtain 20 GB of free storage by deleting files, you may need to perform a factory reset on the Samsung Android tablet.

Warning: A factory reset erases all data, apps, and settings from the device. Before proceeding, make sure that you know your Google/Samsung account passwords, GSW account password, and KDS 2.0 license key, as they will be required after the reset.

🔗How to Find the License Key

1. Go to Settings > General management > Reset.
2. Select Factory data reset.
3. Scroll down and tap Reset. Enter the PIN or password if prompted.
4. Tap Delete all to confirm.
5. After the tablet restarts, reinstall the KDS 2.0 app and continue to the next step.

Step 2: Retry the installation

1. After freeing sufficient storage, retry the update or ROM data installation.
2. If the installation is successful but specific deleted ROM data must be restored, proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Restore deleted ECU ROM data using Auto mode

If required ROM data was deleted, restore it as follows:

Note: The required ROM files are downloaded securely from the server based on the existing ROM data profile.

1. Open 'ECU Upgrade' and select Auto mode.
2. Allow the system to check the existing ROM data automatically.
3. Wait until the “Downloading” process is complete.

Step 4: Restore ROM data using Manual Mode

If Auto mode does not restore all required ROM files:

1. Select Manual Mode in the ROM recovery function.
2. In Manual Mode, select the required event or subcategory. The selected ROM data will begin downloading.
