Smart Key registration error: “Registration failed, Smart Key security has not been released”

Symptom

When attempting to register a Smart Key, registration fails and the messages “Registration failed” and “Smart Key security has not been released” are displayed.

Cause

If Smart Key registration is performed while the Ignition is On (IG On) instead of Off (IG OFF), the security lock is not released correctly, causing security authentication to fail.

How to Resolve

1. Log out of the diagnostic app.
2. Close the diagnostic app completely.
3. Restart the diagnostic app.
4. Log back in to the diagnostic app.
5. Set the Ignition to Off (IG OFF), then perform the Smart Key Registration function again.
