📘 SCU Neutralization Procedure Manual

1. Purpose

To safely and correctly neutralize the SCU following removal or for diagnostic purposes, ensuring proper vehicle operation.

2. Preparations

• Vehicle with an SCU requiring neutralization

• Diagnostic tool supporting the IBU-SMK or BDC-SMK functions

• Vehicle key

3. Procedure

3-1. Perform Neutralization with the Ignition OFF

1. Set the vehicle ignition to OFF.

2. Using the diagnostic tool, access the SCU Neutralization function through IBU-SMK or BDC-SMK.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the neutralization process.

3-2. Wait for the Vehicle to Enter Sleep Mode

1. After confirming the completion message, do NOT change the vehicle power state.

2. Wait for the vehicle to enter sleep mode without performing any additional operations. Ensure that the following conditions are maintained:

   • All doors must remain closed

   • Door Lock must remain active

3-3. Verify Successful Neutralization

• Check the instrument cluster and confirm that the Gear position (P) indicator is OFF.

4. Caution

• Do NOT set the vehicle to Ignition On before confirming that the Gear position (P) indicator is OFF on the instrument cluster.

  • If the vehicle is set to Ignition On prematurely, SCU neutralization will not be completed and must be performed again.

• If a door is opened or the vehicle is unlocked during the waiting period, the vehicle may fail to enter sleep mode, invalidating the neutralization process.
