In most cases, the GSW / User Support / e-Report / Configuration buttons are not displayed because insufficient tablet storage prevents the resource files from being installed, resulting in a version mismatch between the main application and the resource files.
Free up sufficient internal storage, run Internet Update again, and, if necessary, request the configuration button package file separately from the Distributor (NSC).
Q. The bottom menu items (GSW, User Support, e-Report, and Configuration) have disappeared from KDS 2.0, GENESIS Smart, or KDS 2.0. How can I resolve this issue?
1. What is the issue? (Symptom)
After performing an Internet Update and launching the diagnostic application, the bottom menu bar (toolbar) that should appear at the bottom of the screen may not be displayed. See the example below.
- All applicable buttons are missing, not visible, or disabled.
- Examples of missing buttons:
GSWUser Supporte-ReportConfiguration
Examples of how users commonly describe the issue:
- “The GSW button disappeared after the update.”
- “The bottom bar is not displayed.”
- “The e-Report icon has disappeared.”
- “The [Configuration] button that was at the bottom of the screen is no longer visible.”
2. Why does this issue occur? (Cause)
Cause 1. The main application version and resource file version do not match
- The main application (KDS 2.0, GENESIS Smart, or KDS 2.0) has been updated to the latest version, but
the resource file containing the screen and button images (configuration button package file) has not been updated to the latest version.
This file contains information for the following buttons:
- GSW button
- User Support button
- e-Report button
- Configuration button
Underlying cause of Cause 1: Insufficient tablet storage
- If the tablet has insufficient internal storage during an Internet Update:
- The latest configuration button package file may not be downloaded at all; or
- The file may be downloaded but not installed correctly,
resulting in a version mismatch between the main application and the resource file.
3. How do I resolve the issue? (Solution)
Solution 1. Free up internal storage on the tablet and run Internet Update again
- Check the tablet storage
- On the Android tablet, go to [Settings] → [Storage] and check the remaining internal storage capacity (GB).
- Examples of how to free up storage
- Delete unused photos, videos, and downloaded files.
- Uninstall unused general-purpose applications.
- If necessary, perform a factory reset on the tablet and reinstall the diagnostic application.
- Alternatively, consider replacing the tablet with one that has at least 128GB of internal storage.
※ Recommended tablet model: Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ (128GB) or higher
⚠️ Important
In accordance with Kia's digital asset policy, the diagnostic application cannot store its diagnostic database separately on external storage, such as an SD card. Sufficient internal storage must be available on the tablet.
- Run Internet Update again
- After freeing up sufficient internal storage,
run the Internet Update function in the diagnostic application again. - After the update is complete, restart the application and
verify that the bottom menu items (GSW, User Support, e-Report, and Configuration) are displayed correctly.
Solution 2. Request only the configuration button package file from the Distributor (NSC)
If the issue is not resolved by following the procedure above, or if Internet Update cannot be performed in the current environment:
- Contact the Customer Support Center at 1588-3665 for assistance.
- Request that the “bottom configuration button package file (GSW, User Support, e-Report, and Configuration resource file)” be provided separately.
