Kia KDS 2.0 S/W Management Feature Failure with Error Code 4305

Problem:

The following error message appears: "Failed to set Digital features(Upgrades) function. Please check your purchase information. Please check the error code and reset it after taking action."

The cause is displayed as "[Cause] 4305 = Unregistered OTA version" when attempting to update the OTA version through KDS 2.0.

Cause:

This error indicates that the vehicle's purchase information has not yet been registered on the purchase server, preventing access to subscribed or purchased features.

Solution:

1. Contact Kia Europe (KEU) or Your Kia Distributor:

   • For Kia vehicles in Europe, contact Kia Europe (KEU).
   • For Kia vehicles outside Europe, contact the appropriate Kia distributor.
   • Provide the required vehicle information and purchase details to resolve the registration issue.

2. Check the OTA Version and Update:

   • After the purchase information has been registered, verify the vehicle's OTA version.
   • If the OTA version is not current or a cached version exists, perform an "OTA Initialization".
   • To locate the "OTA Initialization" feature:
     • Go to "S/W Management".
     • Search for "OTA" in the search box.

Note: The purchase information issue must be resolved before proceeding with the OTA version update.
