Smart Key registration error: “Registration failed, Smartkey security has not been released”

Symptom

When attempting to register a Smart Key, the registration fails and the messages “Registration failed” and “Smartkey security has not been released” are displayed.

Cause

If Smart Key registration is performed while the Ignition is ON (IG ON) rather than OFF (IG OFF), the security authentication is not released correctly, resulting in an authentication failure.

Resolution

1. Log out of the diagnostic application.
2. Close the diagnostic application completely.
3. Restart the diagnostic application.
4. Log back in to the diagnostic application.
5. Switch the vehicle to IG OFF, then perform the Smart Key registration function again.
